Men are funnier! Women are funnier! The Hideout Theatre will put an end to the debate with its Battle of the Sexes Improv Showdown. Two teams of improvisers, divided along gender lines, will go head-to-head at The Long Center. Only one will be victorious. Who will emerge as the stronger, funnier sex? You be the judge!

The last time The Hideout Theatre brought an improv show to The Long Center, it was to host Keith Johnstone in a rare edition of Maestro, directed by the improv god-father himself. It was a big community event. We laughed, we held hands; some of us even hugged.

This time, The Hideout is descending on The Long Center to settle a score. The Battle of the Sexes Improv Showdown will once and for all determine which gender can claim to be the Kings -- or Queens -- of Improv. Two teams, captained by visiting improvisers Kevin Gillese and Amber Nash from the Dad's Garage Theatre in Atlanta, will go toe-to-toe in a match of TheatreSports, a Keith Johnstone-invented competitive improv show. Improv games and scenes, both comedic and dramatic, will be judged to determine the winner of this important night of improv!

And since we're settling scores, it only seems right that we'll start the night off by pitting two of Austin's improv theaters against one another. The opening bout will see The Hideout Theatre's team of improvisers take on the Gnap! Theater Projects team, in a short round of TheatreSports that'll be sure to get your heart pumping for the main event! This night of blood, sweat, tears, and improv is not to be missed!
