There are end of the world films that go so over the top that they are truly unbelievable and then there are the ones that make you wonder if it’s really possible. Well ARMAGEDDON tops them all. When word gets out that a Texas sized meteor is racing towards earth, who else would NASA call but Bruce Willis? A group of ruff neck oil drillers are sent in to outer space to save the world from obliteration in a film that could be considered one of the guiltiest pleasures of them all.
“No one in his or her right mind is going to take this juggernaut explode-o-thon seriously, of course, but as far as popcorn-grubbing eye candy with deafening sound and plenty of cheeseball Aerosmith tuneage (and progeny), it's great fun.” – Marc Savlov, The Austin Chronicle
