. REEL WOMEN PRESENTS “COFFEE & CONVERSATION WITH CONNIE” “FRIDAY NIGHT LIGHTS” STAR CONNIE BRITTON TO BE INTERVIEWED! REEL WOMEN will present a casual “salon” interview and conversation with CONNIE BRITTON, star of the NBC television series FRIDAY NIGHT LIGHTS . Coffee, soft drinks and morning snacks will be served. The event is open to the public and is not just for women – men are invited and welcome, as they are at almost all REEL WOMEN events. Ms. Britton will talk about her career and acting experience, her training and approach to her craft, the FNL family of co-stars/co-workers, working on location, preparation, challenges, successes, disappointments, behind-the-scenes action, women in “the biz”, Austin and its film community and more. After the interview, which will be conducted by SHERRY MILLS, Executive Director of REEL WOMEN, Ms. Britton will take questions from the audience. There will also be time for networking and some clips from Ms. Britton’s work will be shown. Ms. Britton plays Tami Taylor, the high school principal and wife of football coach Eric Taylor, played by Kyle Chandler, on the show, which is now in its fourth season. She played the same role in the movie (with Billy Bob Thornton in the coach’s role) several years ago. She was a series regular on Spin City with Michael J. Fox and has appeared in numerous other television shows and in several movies, most recently Women in Trouble, which was in theaters last year, and a new Nightmare on Elm Street to be released in 2010. She first caught the public’s eye in Edward Burns’ The Brothers McMullen playing the wife of one of the brothers. In honor of Connie’s role as a school principal on the show, REEL WOMEN asks that attendees bring unused school supplies, which will be donated to the Austin Children’s Shelter. Participants who bring supplies will get a free raffle ticket.
