High-definition, digital cinema presentations join the programming mix at the Long Center for the Performing Arts this month with an exclusive, high-def presentation of Bruce Springsteen & The E Street Band’s concert film, LONDON CALLING: Live in Hyde Park. This special film version of Springsteen's 2009 concert will be presented for three screenings in the Long Center's Dell Hall.

The Long Center has entered into an agreement with Emerging Pictures, the largest all-digital theater network in the United States. Emerging Pictures has a network of performing and media arts centers and independent art house theaters, tied together through digital technology, enabling the venues to cost-effectively exhibit art films, documentaries, foreign language films, independent cinema and cultural programming. Rather than having content distributed and shown via conventional 35mm film reels or even via commercial-grade DVD's, Emerging Pictures delivers its content over the internet to specially designed servers which are hooked up to high-grade digital projectors in the venue.

June 18 performance will open with Austin musician Alejandro Escovedo. Escovedo’s New LP ‘Street Songs Of Love’ due June 29 features guest Bruce Springsteen.
