      One of the best things about "The Big Apple" at Christmas is now one of the best things about Christmas entertainment in Austin: The Radio City Rockettes. Not just because one gets a great gander at 36 glamourous, georgeous gams and the spectacular dancers flashing them. AHEM! This IS a family show with lots of secular Yuletide fun. My favorite is the Rockette's show-stopping and legendary "Parade of the Wooden Soldiers," (So! There! You know I'm not a "leg man.") But I'm a huge fan of the Madison Square Garden Entertainment family: Patrick Fahey who designed the eye-popping scenery; Gregg Barnes & Pete Menefee for riotously colorful costume designs; David Agress for dazzling light sequences; Dan Gerhard who got the sound mix & volume exactly right! Ellen Grace superbly directed & staged this ALL NEW production, with lots of original music and an awesome, emotional re-telling of "One Solitary Life" (Jesus Christ) and a stunning Living Nativity. Santa, Ms. Claus, elves, singers...YAHOO! Collapse

      This dazzling show has it all, from a dancing, singing Santa to the most beautiful, richly costumed and meaningful living Nativity I've ever seen. (Two camels, four sheep, a pony, gorgeously attired kings & their entourages.) That's the final scene. For the other 12 scenes, there also is an ensemble of six men and six women who dance and sing and an adorable Mrs. Santa Claus with a strikingly strong voice. Oh, and then there are those 18 lovely Rockettes -- Audrey, Jenelle, Mandy, Lauren, Karl (right!), Erin, Addie, Danielle, Kara, Bonnie, Amy, Alli, Katie, Gina, Stacey, Emily, Margaret, DeMoya, Nicole, Carolyn, Alexis, Melinda (22 in troupe) -- who do their precision high kicks and perfectly synchronized dance routines. Exquisite costumes and exquisite sets make the performances even more outstanding. Even if you have seen this Radio City Spectacular previously, come on back. THIS is a brand new production.       There is so much packed into this show – it’s hard to know where to start! It’s a combination of 18 Rockettes, 12 ensemble members, Santa, Mrs. Claus and elves – all providing us the opportunity to witness what New York has had since 1933. From their traditional March of the Wooden Soldiers and Living Nativity – to the tap dancing 12 Days of Christmas, Santa’s Workshop and a twist on The Nutcracker – there’s something for everyone in the Christmas Spectacular. Of course the high-kicking routines and beautiful smiles of the Rockettes is what brings you to the show, but the performance talents of the ensemble is a real treat and adds extra excitement to the show. The costuming is absolutely gorgeous – rich velvets, shiny sequins, and for the Living Nativity – a regal opulence of the Three Wise Men that takes your breath away. If you’re looking for a new family holiday tradition, take in the show…it’s playing multiple times each day, so find one that works for you! Collapse

      This is a fabulously fun show full of Christmas spirit. The dancing is wonderful-not only the impeccable precision of the Rockettes, but the flawless and beautiful ensemble dancers as well. Santa, Mrs. Claus, elves, and many other added surprises were very entertaining. The music and singing were enjoyable. There were many, many creative, colorful costumes, sets, and ideas. Loved the variety of bears and dancing in the Nutcracker scene, the creativeness portraying the gifts of the 12 Days of Christmas, the Parade of the Wooden Soldiers, the reindeer and Santas dances, the living nativity, and other scenes. Go see this delightful, energetic, and visually stunning show. It will make you smile and want the Christmas season to last longer. Collapse

      This is a fabulously fun show full of Christmas spirit. The dancing is wonderful-not only the impeccable precision of the Rockettes, but the flawless and beautiful ensemble dancers as well. Santa, Mrs. Claus, elves, and many other added surprises were very entertaining. The music and singing were enjoyable. There were many, many creative, colorful costumes, sets, and ideas.
