Tribute to Fathers "Guru Baba"

On Sunday, June 27, renowned sitarist Amie Maciszewski leads a performance titled "Guru Baba Tribute," from 6:00 p.m - 9:30 p.m. at the Dougherty Arts Center, 1110 Barton Springs Road. The evening features her group, Sangeet Millennium Ensemble, which also includes Paul Klemperer on saxophone and Shiv Naimpally on tabla. The tribute is a collaboration with musical friends, including guru brother sarodist Rick Henderson (www.ragavatar.com), noted Hindustani vocalist Manasi Joshi (a recent immigrant to Austin), and showcase performances by several of Maciszewski's students. Following the performance there will be a reception in the lobby with music from Paul Klemperer's band, My Exotic Other.
