African American Book Festival

Join us for the fourth annual Austin African American Book Festival . This year the festival will feature the 2004 Pulitzer Prize winner Leonard Pitts and will focus on the theme is “Black Male Writers Inspiring Change”. This year’s book festival will also feature spoken word artist SaulPaul, Rev. Sterling Lands, children’s illustrator Don Tate, author of young adult fiction Valerian Johnson, cookbook author Toni Tipton Martin and romance writer Farrah Rochon. Overall, it will be a family oriented fun filled day of celebrating the joy of reading.
Activities for the kids include arts and crafts, face painting and an array of other activities for young book lovers. These activities will take place in the Carver Library courtyard and inside the library.
