June 1, 2010
Add Review/Comment
Sam Gwynne is an award-winning journalist whose work has appeared extensively in Time and Texas Monthly, where he was executive editor. Empire of the Summer Moon is stunning historical account of the battle between Comanche Indians and white settlers for control of the American West, in the tradition of Bury My Heart at Wounded Knee. Cynthia Ann Parker was captured by the Comanche Indians at age 9, and this book follows the life of her son, Quanah, who would become the most famous of all Comanche chiefs.
