Artist's Video: Dan Graham, Rock My Religion
Thursday, May 20, 7 PM
Blanton Auditorium, FREE
Starting with the “reeling and rocking” of religious revivals as his point of departure, Graham analyzes the emergence of rock music as religion with the music and philosophy of Patti Smith as his focus. This complex collage of text, film footage, and performance provides a compelling look at the cultural phenomenon of rock and roll.
