Join us for sampling of Southern food traditions, inspired by American Letterpress: The Art of Hatch Show Print exhibition. Discussion led by Elizabeth Engelhardt Southern food scholar and Associate Professor of American Studies at UT Austin, Toni Tipton-Martin, journalist, blogger, cookbook author and founder of nonprofit cooking school and event space; and Jack Gilmore, proprietor of Jack Allen's Kitchen and the event's featured chef. Traditional Southern cocktails, Saint Arnold's beer and a sweet tea by Zhi Tea will also be served.

We will be collecting your recipes for the Sustainable Food Center's cookbook. Check back for instructions on how to submit your favorite traditional Southern recipe updated to use local, sustainable ingredients.

You will also have an opportunity to view the exhibition, and meet Edible Communities founders Tracey Ryder and Carole Topalian, who will be signing their new book, Edible, a Celebration of Local Foods.
