Enter the colorful world of cable access TV hostess Earlene Hoople, the self-proclaimed “Queen of Rural Media,” as she tapes her first Christmas Special in front of a live audience. A hilarious and heartwarming holiday romp from writer/director Pat Hazell of “The Wonder Bread Years.”

      Really truly enjoyed this performance. The details surrounding the show were awesome and worth seeing multiple times just to pick out a new gem of a phrase or a prop each time!

      Sitting in the audience of A Kodachrome Christmas is like sitting in your favorite aunt’s kitchen and living room…you know – the slightly kooky aunt. Marianne Curan’s portrayal of Earlene... Expand

      Sitting in the audience of A Kodachrome Christmas is like sitting in your favorite aunt’s kitchen and living room…you know – the slightly kooky aunt. Marianne Curan’s portrayal of Earlene Hoople is as warm and fuzzy as the various Christmas sweaters and vests she wears throughout the show. The audience becomes active members of her rural cable show’s live audience as Earlene tapes her Christmas show – but beware – you just might get pulled up on stage to assist in a scene! The one-liners are sprinkled like multi-colored sugar through the monologue – just enough to satisfy your sweet tooth without the calories. The “word from our sponsors” spots almost steal the show, along with the Kodachrome slide show in the last scene. If you’re old enough to remember Kodachrome film – then you’ll get a kick out of the slide show – recognizing pictures that could’ve easily come out of your own family photo album. Make the time during the holidays to see this little gem, you’ll enjoy it! Collapse
