Such a fun show. I'm still laughing just thinking about it. Each piece is a little gem and the best part if it all is that they words that actors perform are the actual words that the celebrities wrote themselves. Don't miss it, cause who wants to miss out on hearing some of Susan Sommers' poetry?

Thinking about your legacy? Considering writing your memoirs? Best see this show first. At least it may deter you from taking yourself waaay too seriously. From poems by Suzanne Sommers to acting enlightment from Mr. T; from sexual advice from Tommy Lee to Diana Ross's "wet dream" in Central Park, the grist for this laughter mill seems endless. Do we really want to know what Sylvester Stallone has in his freezer and how he does steering wheel push-ups? Do we care that Ivana Trump feels a duck is the best pet? That a drunk Richard Burton might just bed Eddie Fisher? OF COURSE WE DO! WE'RE HUMAN! And a good guffaw is great for the gut. First night actors Tom Booker, Eugene Pack, Dayle Reyfel, Michael Urie ("Ugly Betty), Annie Golden and lucky locals Daniel Davis and Lauren Lane kept a near-full house in stiches. With a grunt, a pause, a lift of the eyebrow, a chuckle, they "read between the lines" to all's delight. (Poor Tiger.) Sometimes bawdy? Sure. You'll love it; won't forget it.

Upfront Warning: Much of the material is G-rated, but if you're offended by sexually explicit, graphic language, this show may not be for you. The concept is simple. Creator Eugene Pack (and team) read about 300 celeb autobios, selected humorous, silly, controversial & downright innane passages to be read by seven actors, including several local actors, on a bare stage. (The few graphics screened behind & above them, had some first night glitches.) The pieces were expertly conveyed, some presented singularly from books by Tiger Woods, Vanna White, Sylvester Stallone, Diana Ross, et al. The concept worked best, in my opinion, when 2-4 actors read "against" one another in kind of "dueling" bio where the authors had shared the same experience. Ex. Debbie Reynolds, Liz Taylor, Eddie Fish, Richard Burton and that convulted exchange of spouses. It's not high art, but if you need hearty laughter the Rollins Theatre, Long Ctr., is the place. Like Pack said, "We couldn't make this stuff up!"

We enjoyed a truly delightful evening of non-stop laughing as talented actors read DIRECTLY from autobiographies. The talented, handsome and seductive Michael Urie (Ugly Betty's Marc) read from the talented, attractive and well-known David Hasselhoff---hysterical! Eugene Pack read a HIGHLY suggestive passage from Tiger Woods. We weren't thinking of golf as he did so, and neither will you!! The entire ensemble read alternatively from: Elizabeth Taylor, Eddie Fisher, Richard Burton, Mike Todd, and Debbie Reynolds... you need to see this as you will come away with a new sense of the sheer craziness of their lives! Lauren Lane gives a stunningly seductive portrayal of Elizabeth Taylor. The written word is good on its own, and the vocalizations and facial expressions of the actors will have you roaring with laughter! Highly recommended! GO tonight is my suggestion!

Going into the show, I thought that reading from celebrity autobiographies would be a fun idea, but I had no clue what I was in for.
I was laughing the whole time. The man in front of my was doubled over with laughter nearly the entire show.
After the show, I learned that the cast will vary a little from night to night, so each show should be different. I may look for an excuse to see it again!

I don't remember when I laughed so hard. What a fantastic idea to read from autobiographies. The collection of actors they have assembled for this are top notch and truly make the text come off the page. I learned three things from attending this performance:
1. There are certain celebrities who should not be allowed to publish their own words! (Except to make the perfect material for this show)
2. 'A Poem by Susan Sommers' is one of the scariest and funniest lines ever uttered.
3. I am seeing this show at least one more time while it is in Austin!!

The content is great on its own, but the actors make it spectacularly funny. I was left out of breath by the end, I laughed so much.
