Don’t miss funny man Mario Cantone presented in partnership with Austin PRIDE 2010, this evening of irreverent stand-up comedy and music. Mario Cantone is best known for his roles as Anthony Marentino in Sex in the City, Sex and the City 2 (opening nationwide May 27) and his Showtime Special “Laugh Whore.”

      Mario Cantone is a funny guy and made me laugh all night. The singing acts got to be a little long and I would have liked to see more stand up comedy with less singing, but overall he is a great guy... Expand

      Mario is an upbeat comic that keeps the audience on their toes. He does a lot of singing, stand up and impersonations of hollywood stars. My favorite was the vagina monologues where the audience was able to shout out names of famous people and he would impersonate them in a very funny way. Mario Cantone is a talented comedian and I was excited to see him on stage, especially since I am a huge Sex in the City fan!! Collapse

      I have seen Mario Cantone on The View many times and all his performances in Sex and the City and have always enjoyed his sense of humor, quick wit, and impersonations. It was wonderful to see him in... Expand

      I have seen Mario Cantone on The View many times and all his performances in Sex and the City and have always enjoyed his sense of humor, quick wit, and impersonations. It was wonderful to see him in person. He was entertaining from start to finish with heartwarming, funny stories and song lyrics, hilarious and dead on impersonations, and his own fine singing voice (didn't know he had). If I didn't see him with my own eyes, I would swear Cher was on stage singing. His dancing and singing duet of Tina and Cher was delightful and funny. I will never watch the old Rudolph Christmas special the same way ever again, and I must agree with his opinion of Frosty. Want to know? Try to catch his show sometime or see him on a talk show, you'll enjoy yourself and the happiness will last a long while. Collapse

      Mario Cantone gave Austin a great dose of his one-man Broadway show, “Laugh Whore,” at the fantastically hospitable Long Center. Cantone is campy for sure, funny and extremely versatile. This guy can sing and do musical impressions with the very best! His duet of Tina Turner and Cher was hysterical. Cantone became Lisa Minnelli on stage, and “her” duet with mother, Judy Garland, was just inspired! Cantone also gave us Julia Child, Martha Stewart, Whitney Houston, American Idol’s Fantasia, and even Bruce Springsteen. Cantone’s wit is natural and endearing. For this Pride celebration, Cantone free associated openly (and with original song lyric) about the challenges of being gay in a mostly straight world, but his talent is top notch and appeals across the board. If you have a chance to catch his performance on Showtime, do not miss it. Collapse
