    GUEST INTERVIEWS: Author ALISON MACOR and Actor SONNY CARL DAVIS


    ALISON MACOR is the author of the recently published book Chainsaws, Slackers, and Spy Kids: Thirty Years of Filmmaking in Austin, Texas (University of Texas Press). Macor is also a freelance writer and former film critic for The Austin Chronicle and the Austin American-Statesman. She holds a Ph.D. in Radio-TV-Film from the University of Texas at Austin and has taught film courses at the University of Texas, Austin Community College and the Austin Museum of Art. She sits on the Advisory Board of REEL WOMEN and has worked with various other local non-profits.


    SONNY CARL DAVIS has appeared in more than 40 feature films including The Three Burials of Melquiades Estrada, Thelma & Louise, Fast Times at Ridgemont High and Melvin and Howard. His leading role in Eagle Pennell's acclaimed, Austin-shot The Whole Shootin' Match launched his acting career in the late 1970s and brought him to the attention of Hollywood executive Verna Fields and casting director Michael Chinich. Davis has taught acting workshops and classes in Los Angeles and Austin. He is currently based in Austin and at work on a one-man show.
