KAIJI MORIYAMA The Velvet Suite Kaiji Moriyama is considered one of the most acclaimed contemporary dancers in Japan. The Velvet Suite, which was created to fit the theme of Body and Eros for the 2007 Venice Biennale, features Moriyama's magnetic movement and presence accompanied on stage by violinist Koichiro Muroya. Moriyama made his U.S. solo debut in 2005 with the stunning piece, katana (sword), which the New York Times called "a dance of amazing concentration by an amazing dancer." This project is co-presented by Arthouse, testperformancetest, and Fusebox Festival.
