The show will start off with Money Chicha performing at 8:00 p.m. Money Chicha is Austins first Chicha group. Featuring members of Austin institutions Grupo Fantasma, Brownout, and Ocote Soul Sounds, Money Chicha performs their interpretation of the Andean music known as Chicha. Chicha started out in the late 60’s, in the oil-boom cities of the Peruvian Amazon. Cumbias Amazonicas, as they were first known, were loosely inspired by Colombian cumbias but incorporated the distinctive pentatonic scales of Andean melodies, some Cuban guajiras, and the psychedelic sounds of surf guitars, wah-wah pedals, farfisa organs and synthesizers.
Chicha, which is named after a corn-based liquor favored by the Incas, quickly spread to Lima. It became the music of choice of the mostly indigenous new migrant population – mixing even further with rock, Andean folklore and Peruvian creole music.

At 10:00 p.m. The Dolomites will take the stage with inspirations from Ethiopian, Indonesian, and Japanese music. This band currently lives and performs in Tokyo Japan and has an “ever-changing band line-up” depending on the location and type of show. Their music is characterized by accordions, electric beats, and distinctive vocals.

Closing the night out, Frederico7 &The Hashashins are featured at 12am. Born in Sao Paulo, Brazil, Frederico7 spent his youth absorbing Brazilian music, from samba and jazz classics to psychedelic rock and reggae. Inspired by this music and by his own observations of the social inequalities present in his home country, he began writing poetry and composing songs at age 15.
