TAMASHA AFRICANA was formed in the late nineties and was dedicated to the performance of SOUKOUS an infectious dance style from the Congo region of Africa. In it's five years of existence the group performed extensively around Texas and introduced many people to the joyous sound of groups like Franco, Kanda Bongo Man, Koffi Olomide, the Soukous Stars (with whom they performed) and also produced one CD of their own original compositions.
