ASoF’s Avant-Garde & Experimental Filmmaking course is a comprehensive introduction to experimental filmmaking. The students will explore the history and evolution of experimental film and are encouraged to navigate the images in their minds to create their own individual works. This course is dedicated to the appreciation of film as an art form and a medium of expression. Students will learn how to use and shoot on Super 8mm cameras, process their films and edit their footage to produce their individual Avant-Garde short film.Their films will be featured in a salon and screening at the completion of the course.
