After a sold out run of their season opener, Alone, Alone, in March, KDH Dance Company continues its 11th season by joining forces with two distinguished local dance companies Armstrong/Bergeron Dance Company and Chaddick Dance Theater. An Evening of Contemporary Dance will allow audiences to delve into the technique and innovative nature of modern dance.

Kathy Dunn Hamrick Dance Company premieres a new dance in collaboration with videographer Kakii Keenan and composer Tim Kerr. It’s still in the works and as yet untitled, but you can plan on being wildly entertained. The company is having a blast creating this new piece, both in the studio and in front of the green screen. Tim incorporates seemingly incongruous samples for an extremely fun and surprising score. And you will want one of Renee Nunez’s costumes.

Armstrong/Bergeron Dance Company will present three works including “Discard the Broken Cassette,” a high energy work choreographed by Kathleen Byrne and Christine Bergeron’s duet, “And then at 36, she hit a cross road.”

Chaddick Dance Theater will perform “Ask No More,” a dance inspired by the sensual, romantic art of the pre -Raphaelite paintings by Sir Lawrence Alma-Tadema. Artistic Director Cheryl Chaddick explains, “The epitome of the female body, curves, circles, roundness and softness, are displayed in Tadema’s works of fine art, and remind me of the natural beauty and lushness purely defined by their shape.”
