Theater- goers smile for Austin, Texas. Evita, the wildly beloved, multi Tony award winning musical highlighting the enigma of Eva Pèron, is being performed by McCallum High School’s acclaimed Theatre Department . It’s guaranteed to be another ‘don’t miss’ McCallum Fine Arts Academy production. The School’s compelling English/Spanish staging celebrates the 30th anniversary of Evita’s Broadway production. From stage to screen, audiences have been beguiled by Andrew Lloyd Weber’s story of the epic ascension of Argentina’s larger-than-life First Lady to power. McCallum’s painstakingly designed bilingual rendition of Evita, featuring such memorable songs as, “Don’t Cry for Me Argentina,” and "Another Suitcase in Another Hall,” will take hold of you too.
