Austin Playhouse proudly presents Shaw’s delightful comedy: Misalliance. Misalliance is a fast-paced, witty comedy that highlights the great characters, sparkling dialogue, and energetic humor for which Shaw is justly renowned. A whirlwind of characters from different social classes and professions including an underwear magnate, an ambassador, a polish acrobat, and a socialist clerk, careen off each other during the course of one afternoon at an English country estate.

      As newcomers to Austin we're getting inducted to the theatre scene and couldn't have been more pleased to have enjoyed Shaw's comical satire than in the company of this exceptional band of actors. We especially enjoyed the antics of the Polish Lena whose wide eyed expressions and smiles and accent will be unforgettable sources of joy in our memory. Thank you for your amazing hard work and the cheer you put into this performance! We are coming back for the next one! Collapse

      Absolutely wonderful. Superb acting by the entire cast. Lively storyline - full of truths, comedy and great jabs. Engaging and beautiful set. The seats are so comfortable for a playhouse. The director greets you at the door. I wish we brought all our friends with us. We will recommend this to everyone we know! Collapse

      Like many of Shaw’s plays, Misalliance is a play as much about ideas as action, and the heavy dialogue might be too much for some visitors, but the humor on display is enough to keep most audiences... Expand

      Like many of Shaw’s plays, Misalliance is a play as much about ideas as action, and the heavy dialogue might be too much for some visitors, but the humor on display is enough to keep most audiences engaged, despite the heady conversation that fills the play. Though it may not be inappropriate for children, younger ones may have a hard time understanding what is happening, so it’s probably best is the youngest at left at home. Misalliance offers audiences plenty of laughs and a bit to think about, all leading to a very enjoyable night of theater. http://tinyurl.com/yjo4p6q Collapse
