During nearly four decades as a professional singer-songwriter, Kenny Loggins has established himself as many things to countless music lovers, from the hit 1970s duo Loggins & Messina, to groundbreaking family artist, and as a successful solo artist with smash pop hits like "Heart to Heart", "This Is It", "I'm Alright", "Footloose" and "Danger Zone". At the heart of it all remains a brilliant singer-songwriter and guitarist with a lifelong passion for exploring the endless power of the song.

After many decades of enjoying Kenny’s singing and songwriting, from the L&M (Loggins & Messina) period, through other vocal artists, radio and record, what a pleasure to see this giant of an entertainer in person and in the “personal” setting that is the Paramount Theatre.
I initially feared Kenny would overwhelm the historic hall, if not the audience, my not having caught a concert there before. But, no, he filled it with flashes of wit, amazing guitar licks and polished showmanship. A little less volume, perhaps, but no less mutual love.
It was like an old friend coming to visit, and the audience was connected to him and they one to another through his songs and masterful story-telling. So it was no surprise that many songs started with warm applause . . . that impromptu sing-alongs were not discouraged and that standing ovations were sprinkled throughout the performance.
Kenny, who changed guitars continuously, generously shared the spotlight with his four sidemen (more)

I’ve an up-front confession to make. Kenny Loggins is a well-known name in the music business, but as I entered the Paramount Theatre, I couldn't think of a single one of his songs. Of course that changed quickly. Song after familiar song impressed me with the huge number of hits Loggins has scored during his 40-plus-year career. Most of the audience knew them all..word for word.
But first, we had the "warm-up" band with Sara Pierce. She entertained us with cute stories of growing up in Texas as well as good ol’ country music.
Loggins started with softer selections like "House at Pooh Corner" and moved on to favorites like "For the First Time," "Celebrate Me Home," "This Is It" and "Your Mama Don't Dance."
His band is perfection. The sound system and lights, fabulous. Hard to believe that enormous sound comes from only five musicians.
Austin is extremely fortunate to maintain such a wonderful venue. The Paramount Theatre is a beautiful, historic space with an (more)
