ART on 5th welcomes back Retro Gallery and their collection of original, vintage posters. The Retro Gallery staff collectively has over 40 years experience in buying and selling original vintage posters. They travel to Europe on an average of 5 times a year to search out fantastic vintage posters and then host vintage poster shows all over the United States. Many of the posters are from France, Italy, England, Poland, Switzerland, and other European countries and each is an antique, printed between 1890 and 1940 -- there are no reproductions. The printing process used is stone lithography, employing hand-carved limestone to create posters for advertising anything from liquor to opera, from household goods to bikes and cars. Each fragile poster has been linen lined to museum paper preservation standards and are preserved and ready to be framed and hung.
