Made in Texas Family Film Series...THE BIG GREEN

Anna Montgomery, an exchange teacher from England, is sent to the run-down town of Elma, TX. In an effort to connect with her students and raise their spirits, she enrolls them in the Austin soccer league. Which begins the following day. Having never played before, the team is humiliated in their first match by the Knights – the defending state champions. With the help of former high school football star, Sheriff Tom Palmer (Steve Guttenberg), and a talented new recruit, Anna and the team turn their luck around and win their way to the state finals. Shot in and around Austin, including the soccer fields at Zilker Park!

In partnership with The Bob Bullock Texas State History Museum and sponsored by the Texas Film Commission, Austin Film Festival's MADE IN TEXAS FAMILY FILM SERIES is a program of three family-friendly movies filmed in Texas. This series will be presented on the Museum's Wells Fargo First Saturdays.
