The mysteries of Sumer and ancient Egypt meet Surf Boy and Space Girl, rare star crossed lovers, experiencing first love in all its wave crashing, heart pounding, supernova glory. Ride the tsunami of love, wipe out, get pounded, and ride again. Bend and fold the space-time continuum. Exceed the speed of light. Is it a particle or is it a wave? Uh, duh, it's wave, dude...it's totally a wave.
Surfin’ UFO is a multi-media event/performance created by collaborative improvisation and synergistic dada epiphanies; music, video and words created in jam sessions and brain storm singularities by Sergio R. Samayoa, David Jewell, Chad Salvata, and Aliens.

      The synopsis used to bill this show is a bit deceptive. Don’t expect to see Surf Boy or Space girl. In fact, most of the performance actually has little to do with these “star crossed lovers.”... Expand

      The synopsis used to bill this show is a bit deceptive. Don’t expect to see Surf Boy or Space girl. In fact, most of the performance actually has little to do with these “star crossed lovers.” It is, in its own words, a “multi-media event/performance.” Translation: it’s a mini concert by talented musicians wherein the theme is alien conspiracy theory. The songs are well composed & the performers passionately perform them. It touches on, but never fully crosses into the realm of performance art. I longed for something more. I wanted the band to take it a step further into weirdness, to fully commit to it, & complete the effect. Instead, it teetered on the edge, only hinting at what its true potential could be. The multimedia aspect of it was also lacking—failing to do little more than what many bands across Austin do with a screen projector. All in all, it was a show best enjoyed by those who are TRUE fans of alien conspiracy or want a unique music experience. NOT a show for all. Collapse
