    Summer blazes on, but school is starting again whether it rains or not!  Here's what is coming up at ASOF:

     

    Introduction to Screenwriting // August 23 - October 25 Tuesdays 6:30-8:30PM

    This course will teach you the basics of screenwriting; formatting a screenplay, character development, three act plot structure, pacing, and the revision process through table reading.  It will also cover the conventions of each genre for both film and television. Upon completion of the course each student will have completed a feature length screenplay.

    Tuition: $700


     

     

    Digital Filmmaking // August 24 - October 12 Wednesdays 6:30-9:00PM

    Learn how to make a short film from writing the characters to submitting it to festivals. This hands-on course will take you through the process of making a short film from script to screen. Learn everything you need to know from screenwriting, shooting, scheduling, marketing, sound, directing, festivals. The class will be broken into small filmmaking teams. Each team will produce a short film using digital video technology.

    The course will feature guest speakers from the Austin Film Community on cameras, lighting and other elements of filmmaking. Students need to have access to a digital video camera. You will need to provide your own tapes and cover any expenses incurred by the short film.

    Tuition: $635.00


     

     

    Digital Video Certificate Program

    Austin School of Film's Digital Certificate Program provides an affordable series of classes in video production and post-production that prepare students to work in the industry. Training classes in HD video, lighting, sound, pre-production, and editing. Students in the certificate program are eligible for placement in internships with top Austin companies. Learn More
