After a mine closes down, Taisto’s father gives him the keys to his inheritance – a white Cadillac convertible. The young man makes his way south to Helsinki and after some extreme ups and downs moves in with Irmeli, who has three jobs and a young self-sufficient son. Seizing an irrational chance for revenge against a man who harmed him, Taisto finds himself in a bad situation, but he eventually makes a new friend who shows him one avenue of escape from hopelessness.
