Established in 1879, the Nashville letterpress company Hatch Show Prints is still using the same hands-on, authentic process. Hatch posters illustrate who we were, what we wanted, what made us laugh, cry, and dance. Advertising everything and everybody, from coffee to stock car races, from Johnny Cash to Pearl Jam, these posters and wood blocks reveal the impressive variety of American entertainment, American products, and American life in the twentieth century..

      I was simply charmed by the Hatch show. The bold colors and the sharp lines are eye-catching and dynamic. I think it is amazing how printmaking is still such a relevant media today. I loved watching... Expand

      I was simply charmed by the Hatch show. The bold colors and the sharp lines are eye-catching and dynamic. I think it is amazing how printmaking is still such a relevant media today. I loved watching the show progress from folk art, to pop art, to fine art; sometimes even within one piece. Collapse

      When looking at posters, you may think they are simply advertisements, but the effort and obvious joy that was taken in creating each piece of "commercial" art can be seen in the texture and detail.... Expand

      When looking at posters, you may think they are simply advertisements, but the effort and obvious joy that was taken in creating each piece of "commercial" art can be seen in the texture and detail. I could not keep from looking at all the prints at a distance, then very close, then back again. The way it is laid out makes watching the viewers part of the work, as they react and discuss where or when they had first seen each work. This is a must see, and bring someone from an earlier generation with you to hear and truly understand what these works represent. Collapse

      The Hatch Show Prints blew me away. The bold, graphic prints convey such vibrancy and emotion using just two colors. It's stunning, really. They're fun, and even the old posters are incredibly fresh.... Expand

      The Hatch Show Prints blew me away. The bold, graphic prints convey such vibrancy and emotion using just two colors. It's stunning, really. They're fun, and even the old posters are incredibly fresh. The make-readies are like nothing I'd seen before, and I'm amazed that something that was considered garbage is so beautiful. I will definitely be back at least once to see them again before the show moves on. I cannot recommend them enough. Collapse

      This is one of the most beautifully and artistically curated shows I have seen in awhile. Between the vibrant colors of the circus prints to the iconic images of Willie Nelson, Johnny Cash, and Grand Ol' Oprey's Minnie Pearl, these images tell the history and culture of our country. The "Make Readies" by Charles Anderson were outstanding and made you awe in wonder that they were created from one some may have considered "garbage". This show is a MUST SEE!! Collapse
