Through the powerful and moving interpretation by Daniela Paluselli, Joan of Arc is portrayed the night before she gets burned at the stake. Prevailing over despair, terror and doubt, Joan's sublime heroism uplifts the audience to a higher level of consciousness and life involvement.

      When I emerged from the play, Joan of Arc The Night Before, I was surprised at how hopeful, and actually joyful, I felt. Such a young girl, such a tragic ending for her life, I thought I would be... Expand

      When I emerged from the play, Joan of Arc The Night Before, I was surprised at how hopeful, and actually joyful, I felt. Such a young girl, such a tragic ending for her life, I thought I would be heavy-hearted. However, I can attribute my hopeful and joyful attitude to Daniela Paluselli's powerful writing and convincing portrayal of Joan's victory of spirit over the horror she endured. Daniela showed us Joan was not a victim. She could have renounced her Saviour, but she chose Him over this death. It is one thing to read the story, it was quite another to see "Joan" in person. I felt every powerful emotion Joan must have felt that night before, as Daniela pulled me from one to another: despair, agonizing fear, homesickness, then strength, confidence and even joy. I purchased the script, so I can reread the inspiring words Daniela wrote whenever I think life is harsh, whenever I wonder if God is listening, whenever I need to be reminded He is all that matters.
