Celebrating Austin's Solid Waste Services employees while exploring our relationship to waste, The Trash Project will feature over 15 large sanitation vehicles and a cast of Solid Waste Employees in a choreographed trash truck ballet! Presented in collaboration with the City of Austin Solid Waste Services Department, Trash Project is Allison Orr's largest project to date. Because the journey of creating a Forklift show is as revealing as the final performance, Orr has invited the public along for the ride through the project’s blog, which features regular journal updates, photos, and video excerpts.

      I really wanted to see the Trash Project. As it rained all day yesterday I thought it would be cancelled and performed today (the published rain date). Yesterday afternoon I looked everywhere I could think of for a number or way to find out if it was going to happen because of the rain, and I found nothing so I didn't go. In checking this site today I see that it did happen yesterday. I am so sorry I missed it and hope that in the future when the weather is questionable that there will be a way to confirm the event. Would love to see video from the performance. Collapse

      Wow that was awesome! It was dramatic, exciting, beautiful, a celebration! It made me laugh, gave me chills, and brought tears to my eyes.

      I really wanted to see the Trash Project. As it rained all day yesterday I thought it would be cancelled and performed today (the published rain date). Yesterday afternoon I looked everywhere I could think of for a number or way to find out if it was going to happen because of the rain, and I found nothing so I didn't go.
