      So often with top classical players you're in a big hall and rely on your ears only for enjoyment. Not so with the Austin Chamber Music folks, you're up close and get to catch the aerobic of these... Expand

      So often with top classical players you're in a big hall and rely on your ears only for enjoyment. Not so with the Austin Chamber Music folks, you're up close and get to catch the aerobic of these string players. Their grace, speed and finesse is as breathtaking as well as the sound. As a violinist myself I love to see the pinky finger's wild vibrato high on the violin's e string, watch finger work on the keyboard, and imagine what it feels like to have a big vibrating cello between my thighs. Chamber music, unlike in the orchestra hall, is up close and personal. The evening was superb, the players, the aerobics, and the sound. The cellist played a solo suing only one string. Michelle told us the story of how Paganini played it in prison on his violin that only had one string left, and cellist don't like to be outdone! The Ravel piece was dream like, like the sequenced flowing shirt of the violinist. The Rachmaninov wa deeply moving tribute to his teacher Tchaikovsky, stunning. Collapse
