Howard Miller is University Distinguished Teaching Associate Professor of History and Religious Studies at the University of Texas at Austin. He is working on a book on General Lew Wallace’s best-selling novel, Ben-Hur, a Tale of the Christ, as a cultural artifact in America from its publication in 1880 to the present.
