This Neil Simon comedy will keep you in stitches all night!
Inspired by Simon’s own early-career experience churning out jokes, Laughter provides a
hilarious, behind-the-scenes look at the making of a 1950’s television variety show re-creating the
neuroses, nonstop gags, and constant one-upmanship of a team of brilliant and funny social
misfits. The writers must deal with a host of wacky antics and struggles to get the show on the air.
You’ll laugh till it hurts!

      The City Theatre keeps proving that it can consistently put on good productions with its latest- Neil Simon's "Laughter on the 23rd Floor." Set in an NBC writer's studio in the McCarthy era, "Laughter" explores the changing social and cultural landscape, when the American people's taste for comedy was changing, and how the crazy writers are caught in the middle. The acting is solid, particularly from Carol Wyman and Ira Stone. Whether you've seen a Neil Simon play or not, "Laughter on the 23rd Floor" is sure to be a fun experience. Collapse

      If you are a Neil Simon fan, or just like a good comedy, I urge you to go see this show. Andy Berkovsky has assembled an incredibly talented cast, and has provided direction that makes it evident why... Expand

      If you are a Neil Simon fan, or just like a good comedy, I urge you to go see this show. Andy Berkovsky has assembled an incredibly talented cast, and has provided direction that makes it evident why he has multiple B Iden Payne nominations. This small theatre just a stone's throw from downtown Austin has once again hit the mark with an entertaining evening of one-liners and hilarious schtick. Collapse

      Never have seen Laughter but it ranks up there as one of Simon’s best. Saw the Friday opening and had a ball! Based on his life working with the likes of Sid Caesar and Mel Brooks, it is a Christmas... Expand

      Never have seen Laughter but it ranks up there as one of Simon’s best. Saw the Friday opening and had a ball! Based on his life working with the likes of Sid Caesar and Mel Brooks, it is a Christmas comedy gem and if you’re not in the holiday spirit, you definitely will be at show’s end. No stand outs in this one as all the cast was perfect and not missing a beat. What a terrific ensemble of actors handling Simon’s wit and comedy with precision. A wonderful holiday show which I highly recommend. Collapse
