Take 6 broke new ground in a cappella music with their swinging, harmony-rich gospel, integrating R&B and jazz influences into their devotional songs. They have earned 10 GRAMMYs, 10 Dove Awards, one Soul Train Award and two NAACP Image Award nominations, and have worked with such luminaries as Quincy Jones, Ray Charles, Ella Fitzgerald and Stevie Wonder. In September 2008, Take 6 released The Standard, which was a first time voyage for the group into a more traditional Jazz repertoire. The Standard, was critically hailed as a success, it also garnered for the group its 19th GRAMMY nomination.
