From her start as a back up singer for Peter Gabriel to her GRAMMY Award for Best New Artist, Paula Cole is an incredibly talented singer/songwriter best known for mega-hits, “I Don’t Want to Wait,” “Where Have All Cowboys Gone,” and “Me.” Drawing heavily from her ethereal, pretty sound, Cole creates songs that relied equally on dreamy melodies and poetic, introspective lyrics. With inventive arrangements built around Cole’s keyboards, her 2007 release, Courage re-established Cole's seminal role among the top female recording artists today.

      I'd be dishonest not to say how impressive PC was... Loved her underrated recordings and missed the Lilith Fair shows, so I didn't want to miss this tour after years of self-imposed hiatus. It was... Expand

      I'd be dishonest not to say how impressive PC was... Loved her underrated recordings and missed the Lilith Fair shows, so I didn't want to miss this tour after years of self-imposed hiatus. It was worth the wait. Intentional intensity in the intimacy of "One World Theatre" can't fail to provide some goosebumps! Her direct asides and note-perfect vocals kept this listener rapt - from sexy whispers thru loud wails in the same phrases. Nor could many take a Joni tribute like "Case of You" and genuinely make it their own, either. Strong material needs a versatile trio, and neither 'Ben' disappointed: Electro-acoustic guitarist Butler ("pilfered" from Suzanne Vega) offered subtle slidework to interplay closely with the slammin' dynamics Cole relied on, mostly in work from THIS FIRE. I was surprised she didn't share more from the most recent & personal COURAGE - but I won't quibble. The final fun encore was a funky cover of "Jolene" & now you know what Paula Cole will bring when she returns! Collapse
