On July 4th, well over 100,000 people will gather at Zilker Park for the largest Independence Day celebration in Austin ever. The H-E-B Austin Symphony July 4th Concert and Fireworks will be under the apt baton of ASO Music Director Peter Bay. The concert will feature patriotic music and the ever-popular 1812 Overture--the latter punctuated by 75-millimeter Howitzer cannons, courtesy of Texas National Guard Salute Battery, and spectacular fireworks over Lady Bird Lake. Bring the whole family for this exciting show!

It was good but music should be simulcast on radio for those who can't get close enough to hear the orchestra. Some people are claustrophobic and being in that big of a crowd would definitely bring... Expand

I read somewhere that the music was supposed to be simulcast on 89.9. If it was supposed to be it wasn't there.
