Big Range Austin Dance Festival 2009 is unlike any other dance festival in Austin. We deliver diverse concepts of contemporary dance created from a diverse selection of choreographers and require them to present new, never seen before, dance. We offer 4 different programs, all to be performed in one location, right in the heart of our growing city! No other dance festival in Austin delivers such programming. Program A- Mix Showcase: June 5-6 @ 8:00p.m.: danahbella danceworks (Radford, VA), Verge Dance Company, Mysti Jace Pride, Lorn MacDougal & Alain Le Razer, ChinaCat Productions (San Antonio, TX), Leah Smiley Tubbs, and ABDC ( Bryan, TX) Program B- Composer Challenge: June 11-12 @ 8:00p.m.: Composer- Austin Schell: Jayne King (San Antonio, TX), Rhianon Renae Kjar/Surface Tension Dance Group, and Shawn Nasralla. Composer-Laura Phelan: Deidre Russell Robinson/Jazz Ballet Co., Schave & Reilly, and Ashley Parker Overton/ Undertow Dance Theatre Program C- Music/Movement Improvisation: June 11-12 @ 9:30p.m. Director, Adam Sultan, performers: Jennifer Micallef, Chell Garcia Trias, Rashana Smith (Henderson, TX), Mari Akita, Emily Babb, and Kirsche Dickson. Program D-Mix Showcase: June 13 @ 8:00p.m. June 14 @ 6:00p.m. Chaddick Dance Theater, Ariel Dance Theatre, Sharon Marroquin, Spank Dance, Jamal Jackson Dance Company (Brooklyn, NY), and M2DT (Dallas, TX).
