Austin based performance artist Daniel Llanes, blends choreography, poetry, theater, and musical composition in his latest work, Mokshya, Path to Enlightenment. Unique, original and very Austin. Presented in three parts, cleverly interwoven with social commentary and theater vignettes:
Part 1: Mr. Llanes new musical compositions for grand piano.
Part 2: the premier of "Shivas", an original contemporary dance based on classical mythology of Egypt and India "the Shivas dance, slicing through the fever of my delirium, transforming it into cosmic renewal"
Part 3: a musical set of original compositions by Mr. Llanes and his eight piece world beat band "For the Love Of It", with Daniel's fancy footwork and pan pipe solo dances thrown in.
Compositional contributions by guest artists, guitarist Jonathan Anderson and singer / songwriter Saffron Parten. Other performers include percussionists James Fenner and Melanie Rose Maxwell, flutist / saxophonist Alex Coke, singer / dancer Carmen Llanes and dancers Ana Silva and Carrie Cunningham.
