Austin Chamber Music Center Presents Duke Ellington's Sacred Concert with the powerful African American soprano, Gloria Quinlan, the Huston-Tillotson Jubilee Singers and an Austin-based all-star Big Band lead by Keith Winking, in the 7th annual concert celebrating works of African-American composers. This concert is free and open to the public.

Between 1965 and 1973 Duke Ellington created three concerts of sacred music, large-scale works that incorporated dancers, choruses, and gosple singers in addition to his own band. Describing these efforts as, "the most important thing I have ever done," he said they allowed him to "say openly what I have been saying on my knees." ACMC brings together a combination of tunes from each of the concerts featuring local artists who embrace the genre.
