Two sisters are reunited in Texas after their eight-year exile from Argentina. Natalia has become a journalist living in Spain and Elena has settled into a suburban life with husband and child. The discovery of an unpublished novel written by their father opens up many old wounds but also promises to help them understand the undertones of familial guilt covered up during the infamous military dictatorship of the 1970s. Moving fluidly back and forth between two decades, the director and her excellent actors show how those turbulent times affected all families, some dangerously so.
