Enjoy a new dance by Ellen Bartel plus live performance by international pianist, Thollem McDonas.
The basic structure of this new dance stems from movement originally created for dance class that forms both abstract and expressive gestures. The choreography is inspired by the beautiful mistakes and successes of the students, layered with that same beauty observed in pedestrian gestures of our everyday lives. In rehearsal, the company manipulates the structure to create what is my perception of dance inspired by the successes, near misses, and strangely dynamic relationships we find in our common experiences. The company will be performing to the recorded music of Steve Reich from various albums.
Dancers: Ellen Bartel, Ellen Hauck, Katherine Hodges, Caroline Sutton Clark , Janine Ploetz, Maggie Wilhite, Dawnerin Wilkinson.
