CLASSES & WORKSHOPS

On-Camera Puppetry
August 4-August 8, 2008
Add Review/Comment
Young puppeteers and filmmakers alike will enjoy this camp. Anyone can build a puppet! Anything can be a puppet! Sock puppets! Paper-tape puppets! Shadow puppets! Flat board puppets! Found objects with googly-eyes! The only limits are the limits of our imaginations. In this camp students will design and build their own puppets, then bring them to life. They will storyboard short films featuring their puppets and film them – using each other as a production team. This camp is designed to help students become more aware of the preparation and teamwork involved in creating a project for the screen and to help them to become more critical of the onscreen images they encounter on a day-to-day basis. This camp will culminate in a screening of student work. Each student will also receive a copy of the class project DVD.
