Not your ordinary trip down the rabbit hole…. When Alice follows the White Rabbit down a rabbit-hole, she finds herself in an amazing Wonderland. So begins a curious musical adventure involving the strangest characters. Alice meets the vanishing Cheshire Cat, is invited to the Mad Hatter’s never-ending tea party, and plays an extraordinary game of croquet with the fearsome Queen of Hearts. The best way to work through a riddle is to inhabit it.

Based on the classic Lewis Carroll tale, Alice in Wonderland is a triumph of imagination in which nonsense cavorts with meaning in a celebration of language. It reminds us, both young and old, to question what is conventional and believe what can be extraordinary. We invite you to this wild, whimsical, musical ride through Wonderland. Don’t be late for Alice in Wonderland….

      An outstanding musical adaptation at City Theatre of the classic Carroll book. I thoroughly enjoyed it and happy to be at a sell-out crowd of the show. Imagnitative costumes and make-up, lively songs, and an cast that protrayed every character to a tee. Don't pass it by, go see it, and join in on all the fun!! Collapse

      The City Theatre gives us a rollicking musical good time with Alice in Wonderland. Thanks to directors Andy Berkovsky and Stacey Glazer for not “dumbifying” that precious text. Nicole Sykes as Alice is spunky, droll, animated and enchanting, with the élan and appeal of the young Judy Garland, whom she strongly resembles. She and this whole cast can sing and dance and carry on with the best of them. Eleven musical numbers fit nicely into the action. With a cast of 23, this show has costumes that in themselves are worth the price of admission. Alice is a colorful and charming evening with familiar friends, happy with music and absurdity.       At the end of act 1 I glanced down at my watch and was surprised that only a little over an hour had passed since the lights dimmed and the show began, as it felt like three. As a fan of both the... Expand

      At the end of act 1 I glanced down at my watch and was surprised that only a little over an hour had passed since the lights dimmed and the show began, as it felt like three. As a fan of both the source material and previous City Theater productions, I was excited to see what their take on the classic children's tale would be, and while I must applaud the work of much of the cast (notibly the charming Alice, amusing Mad Hatter and March Hare, and the manical Queen of Hearts), the overall result was slow and plodding. Particularly the overabundance of songs which seemed to be included simply to give each performer (or group of performers) their moment to shine in the spotlight rather than further the story. Like I said before, I have been a fan of previous City Theater productions and am looking forward to their future work, however I think the average viewer, particularly those with kids, would be best served by passing this one by.       At the end of act 1 I glanced down at my watch and was surprised that only a little over an hour had passed since the lights dimmed and the show began, as it felt like three.
