RedHouse Arts is pleased to join Audacity Theatre Productions in staging Andy Eninger’s darkly comic one-man show THE LAST CASTRATO at the Blue Theater, 916 Springdale Road, Fri & Sat, Feb 9 & 10 at 7 & 9 pm. THE LAST CASTRATO is the bittersweet tale of Joseph, who was born without a penis, and his love affair with Elena, who was born with her skin inside out. Elena, however, was blessed with a beautiful singing voice to balance her deformity, while Joseph had no talent to make up for his missing member. “A penis,” he muses, “in terms of artistic merit is worth nothing.” In addition to THE LAST CASTRATO, there will be three short works by Austin playwrights Steve Barney and Greg Romero, directed by Chris Humphrey.
