Former radio personality, David Jarrott, brings the jolly, braggart fat man to life as the legendary Fallstaff. Beth Burns, acclaimed for her delightful romp in Much Ado about Nothing, returns as Mistress Quickly. Justin Scalise, new-comer to Austin by way of New Orleans, plays Prince Hal, transforming from party boy to hero over the course of the adventure. Award winning Austin actor, Steve Shearer, will play the title King Henry IV, and Marc Pouhe', recent winner of the Austin Crtics' Table award as Best Actor, portrays the volatile Hospur. The reading is directed by Matt Davies, most recently seen as Benedick in Austin Shakespeare's Much Ado About Nothing. Mr. Davies is a PHD literature student at the University of Texas, who has decades of experience as an actor on the London stage. From the Director: "Henry IV yokes together martial, machiavellian, and madcap worlds, as opposing lords of majesty and misrule contend for control of a play that is both a critique and a celebration of a divided Britain.
