How would you react if you were jobless, the plants on your terrace were dying, your apartment was burglarized, the city sanitation workers went on strike during a record heat wave and your psychiatrist died? ...to say nothing of the more minor tribulations of nosy neighbors, helpful relatives, and exact bus fares. Neil Simon’s dark comedy The Prisoner of Second Avenue is as relevant today as when it first ran on Broadway in 1971. And only Neil Simon could show us that even in the face of desperation, despair and indignity, it’s easier to laugh about life’s dramas as we face them head on. Important Information: This comedy is geared towards adult audiences, and contains adult language and situations.
