THEATRE
Laundry and Bourbon and Lone Star
March 20-April 13, 2008
Add Review/Comment
Set in Maynard, Texas, Laundry and Bourbon begins as Elizabeth spills plenty of liquor and several small town secrets while folding laundry with her friend Hattie and unwanted drop-in Amy Lee Fullernoy. Lone Star finds Roy, a fading Vietnam Vet, downing cheap beer and reliving the good old days with brother Ray in a local bar. The conversation becomes testy when Cletus T. Fullernoy joins in with Ray eventually spilling secrets of his own. Laundry and Bourbon and Lone Star are companion plays that reveal the many differences, as well as the similarities, between the sexes often illuminating the meaning of marriage, love, freedom, and growing up. Often intense and full of angst, there is plenty of humor throughout as we swallow this big piece of Americana and a little piece of ourselves as well. Additional Showings: Two shows Sunday, April 6 and April 13, 2:30pm and 5:30pm.
