  This monthly event - part workshop\, part open-mic - is meant to develop 
 new work\, foster collaboration\, and provide artists a forum to share the
 ir talents.\n \nWe invite:\nPlaywrights who want to do readings or staging
 s of scenes from works-in-progress.\nPerformance Artists and Songwriters w
 ho want to try out new pieces.\nSingers and Musicians who want to practice
  recital or audition pieces.\nActors who want to practice audition pieces 
 or participate in readings and stagings.\nPoets looking to make their voic
 e heard and hear what others have to say in response.\nAudiences who want 
 to see a sneak preview from VORTEX artists and who want to support The VOR
 TEX with applause for its performers and a drink at the caf&eacute\;.\n\nS
