 00th anniversary of the Mexican Revolution\, pivotal events in Mexico's st
 ruggle for self-governance. In collaboration with The University's Graduat
 e Studies program and the Consulado General de M&eacute\;xico en Austin\, 
 the Ransom Center will display original materials from its collections tha
 t illuminate these historic touchstones.\nThe exhibition will feature such
  rarities as the original 1529 document appointing Hern&aacute\;n Cort&eac
 ute\;s Captain General of New Spain\; unpublished letters exchanged betwee
 n the ill-fated Ferdinand Maximilian\, Emperor of Mexico and his wife Carl
 otta\; original documentary photographs of the Mexican Revolution along wi
 th period broadsides illustrated by Jos&eacute\; Guadalupe Posada\; and ar
 tistic responses to the long history of Mexico's conquest and revolt.\n\n
