DAVID MAMET'S SCORCHING MASTERPIECE OF BIG MONEY SCHEMES. GLENGARRY GLEN R
OSS BURNS HOT AT THE CITY THEATRE Enter the cut-throat world of real estat
e where it's all about closing the big deal as City Theatre continues its
third season with the award-winning modern classic Glengarry Glen Ross. In
a time of constant doubt about financial security\, and at a crucial mome
nt of government transition\, David Mamet's stage play has never been more
relevant. Get caught up in the action as a group of ruthless salesmen lie
\, cheat and connive to move up in the world of sales. The rock-and-roll r
hythm and sizzling language of this play provides an up-close and personal
lesson in the struggle to survive in a business world where the only goal
is the top prize. Opening Night is Thursday\, October 2 with performances
through October 26. Lie. Cheat. Steal&hellip\;all in a day's work. Glenga
rry Glen Ross is a mix of hilarity and fury where real estate salesmen vie
for the top sales prize in a savage contest of deception and betrayal. Ro
ma is in the lead for the monthly sales award - a new Cadillac - while for
mer top salesman Shelly Levene is riding a streak of bad luck. They rely o
n Williamson to give them hot leads\, but Williamson ruthlessly pits the v
eteran salesmen against each other. As the cruel battle of wits ensues\, t
he play offers a hard-hitting\, darkly comic story of betrayal and a still
-relevant analysis of our shifting values. Filled with shocking twists and
turns\, this cold-blooded drama is guaranteed to keep audiences breathles
s and on the edge of their seats. The play won the 1984 Pulitzer Prize for
Drama and received four Tony Awards that year. This is the first time Mam
et has been produced at the City Theatre and is for mature audiences. Arti
stic Director\, Andy Berkovsky\, along with company member\, Charles P. St
ites will be co-directing the production and will feature the seven-member
male ensemble of Gil Austin (Aranow)\, David Christopher (Lingk)\, Wray C
rawford (Levene)\, Conrad Gonzales (Moss)\, Bryan Headrick (Williamson)\,
Heath Thompson (Baylen) and Charles P. Stites (Roma).\n\nStart time: Thurs
